Vase-making Workshop

Hunua

$99pp

When: Thursday 30th October, 2025
Time: 6.30pm - 9.30pm
Where: Sweetgum Cottage & Garden
2495 Hunua Road, Auckland

Relax, enjoy, and create your own unique decorative vase with Bex from R Ceramics.

In this workshop held at Lynda Hallinan's exquisite Sweetgum Cottage & Garden, Bex will begin with a demonstration of how to make a vase using basic pottery hand-building pinch pot techniques. You’ll then go through the process with her support, creating a vase designed and decorated by you.

Bex will (carefully) take your creation home. She will bisque-fire it, glaze it in your choice of white, clear or black, then do a final firing. Your vase will be ready 3-4 weeks later for collection from Bex’s home studio in Hunua.

No need to bring anything but yourself on the day – all materials, aprons, and ideas (if you want them) are provided.

  • Suitable for beginners & ages 12+

  • Includes all materials, clay, tools, glazes, firing & tutoring

  • Light refreshments provided

  • The workshop starts at 6.30pm but you're welcome to arrive a little earlier to enjoy a tiki tour of the amazing Sweetgum Cottage Garden.

Please note that spaces are limited. No refunds are available if you are no longer able to attend (however, your ticket can be transferred for someone else to come in your place). A minimum number of 8 people are required for the workshop to take place. In the unfortunate event that the event has to be cancelled, then you will be refunded fully.
